17³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s Early Childhood Education (PK-4) and Special Education (PK-12) Certifications dual major unlocks an unlimited career potential. The program prepares teachers for preschool through Grade 4 and special education teachers in public and private educational institutions. The program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The dual certification allows program graduates to work as:

• Elementary educators (preschool though Grade 4)
• Special education teachers and learning support specialists (preschool though Grade 12)
in public and private educational institutions.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø offers a wide range of minors, which are optional programs of study that complement or supplement students' majors. They typically require 18-21 credits. Learn more about our offerings below.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø's Associate of Science in Healthcare Science degree teaches students how to advocate for individuals and communities that are underserved or underinformed on issues related to health and wellness, health-system policies and health management. The program is an excellent opportunity for students at all levels, including transfers with associate degrees as occupational therapy assistants, physical therapy assistants, medical imaging professionals, dental hygienists or respiratory therapists.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø's biology program and its enthusiastic faculty are dedicated to providing students with a framework to excel in any biological field. Students work closely with faculty to develop critical thinking skills and analytical techniques to be successful in their future careers as scientists. The laboratory spaces expose students to equipment and instrumentation for examining cells and tissues, isolating and manipulating DNA and protein, growing and analyzing microbes, and analyzing metabolites in plants and other organisms.

Biology majors can also enter into the 3+2 Physician Associate Program and have the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s and master’s degree in 5 years.

Are you a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) ready to take your career to the next level? 17³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s COTA-to-MSOT Bridge Program provides a seamless pathway from your Associate Degree to a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) through the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Science. This bridge program is designed specifically for licensed OTAs who want to become occupational therapists.
